Purpose of the Job The QA Engineer ensures high product quality by embedding quality into development through automation, code, and a strong understanding of systems. The role takes a developer-first approach to quality, building and maintaining automated testing solutions across systems and services, and ensuring reliable, end-to-end customer journeys in digital banking products.

Responsibilities of the Job - Design, build, and maintain automated tests across systems and services

  • Contribute to a modern automation stack and support the phase-out of legacy frameworks (e.g. Selenium
  • Develop and maintain test code, primarily using Java
  • Apply a shift-left, developer-first QA approach in close collaboration with engineers
  • Perform API and integration testing using relevant tools (e.g. Postman)
  • Ensure quality across end-to-end customer journeys in digital banking products
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in agile environments
  • Perform manual testing where needed, particularly for exploratory testing or while building automation coverage
  • Continuously improve testing practices, frameworks, and CI/CD integration

Education Level Bachelor's Degree

Experience/Demonstrated Competencies - Previous experience working as a as a Software Developer or QA Engineer with strong automation focus

  • Experience working with test automation tools such as Playwright
  • Experience in API and integration testing
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams
  • Experience in banking or fintech domains (nice to have)
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams (nice to have)

Language Competencies - Fluency in English, both written and spoken

  • Nordic language proficiencies are considered a plus

Knowledge required - Understanding of test automation frameworks and tools (e.g. Playwright)

  • Knowledge of programming concepts, particularly in Java
  • Can demonstrate knowledge about agile ways of working in cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of API testing and system integrations
  • Awareness of CI/CD practices and modern software delivery approaches
  • Experience in banking or fintech domains such as lending (e.g. annuity loans), credit cards, savings and deposits, payments, and digital wallets (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Pay) (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with core banking platforms such as TCS BaNCS (nice to have)

Capabilities for this job - Able to design and implement automated testing solutions

  • Able to perform both automated and manual testing as needed
  • Capable of improving testing frameworks and processes continuously
