DevOps Engineer (Sovereign Cloud – CloudOps)
Location: Amsterdam (Hybrid)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Long term contract
Language Requirement: Fluent Dutch (mandatory) + English
About the Role
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the CloudOps team supporting customer environments on the Internal Sovereign Cloud platform.
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery of secure, scalable, and compliant cloud infrastructure. You will work within a DevSecOps environment, collaborating closely with Cloud Architects, SREs, and Security Engineers, while coordinating with Platform Ops teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provision and manage customer infrastructure (VMs, containers, databases, storage) using ASC portal and Infrastructure-as-Code
- Configure and maintain customer tenant environments and landing zones
- Build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines for infrastructure and deployments
- Manage OpenShift clusters, including configurations and workload deployments
- Execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery testing aligned with RPO/RTO targets
- Monitor infrastructure performance (CPU, memory, availability) and respond to alerts
- Coordinate networking requests (VPCs, subnets, load balancers, firewalls) with Platform Ops
- Perform patching, lifecycle management, and configuration updates
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support, incident resolution, and event management
- Implement governance standards via policy-as-code (tagging, naming conventions)
- Maintain operational documentation and runbooks
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure operations
- Strong Linux administration and scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell)
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or Bicep)
- Experience with container platforms: Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Tekton, or Azure DevOps
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (VPCs, subnets, load balancing, DNS, firewalls)
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery concepts
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on automation
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Fluent Dutch is mandatory
Preferred Certifications
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or OpenShift certification
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate
